Lesson 2: The Inner Critic as Material
Instead of resisting your inner critic, learn to give it a form or voice on the page. By turning self-doubt into creative material, you shift from judgment to curiosity and free yourself to keep exploring.

Lesson 4: Draw Yourself Calm
Connect drawing to your breath in this calming practice. As your pen rises and falls with each inhale and exhale, your nervous system settles, your mind quiets, and imagination finds space to appear naturally.

The creative reset you’ve been waiting for.
This course is designed to help you reset your creative energy, quiet self-doubt, and reconnect with imagination as the living source that makes creativity feel alive.
Each session combines short teachings with simple art practices you can do with just a pen and paper. The journey culminates in creating an image that gathers together the week’s discoveries and serves as a touchstone you can return to whenever you need.
You don’t need artistic skill for this course, only curiosity and a pen or pencil. Each lesson combines short teachings with simple art practices you can do in a sketchbook or on any piece of paper.
The lessons in this course are intentionally simple and presented as audio-only. This is to help the visual field remain open and not influenced by images or demonstrations. In this way, your imagination has room to grow and expand into your own unique process. A big part of this is learning to trust yourself and what comes through.
After each lesson, you’re invited to share your creative work with me through the link at the bottom of the page. You can also email me with questions at kristenphillips.art@gmail.com
By the end of this course, you’ll have practical, repeatable tools for calming your mind, loosening perfectionism, and opening yourself to the surprising directions imagination wants to take you, in art and in life.
