Softening started wild, and slowly showed what it wanted to be: blue with the freshness of green, open and soft like a breeze. What this painting asked me to soften went beyond the paint: my grip, my need to prove and perfect, my relentless desire to be all things at once. This is the state underneath all of that. The body exhaling. Belonging. Trusting that what arrived is enough.
